This year’s Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza at Fire Service Headquarters in Birkenshaw is just a matter of days away!
This Saturday, November 3rd, we will open up the gates once again for another great community focussed event, and as the last preparations are in full flow we are hoping for a dry night and an enjoyable event for both young and old.
The organised event provides a safe place to join in the celebrations, with the gates opening at 5pm and a mini fireworks display, with low noise for the young ones, at 7.30pm before the main event at 8.15pm.
There will be a roaring bonfire and kids’ rides along with all the usual bonfire food and drink of the season.
This year all proceeds raised will go once again to The Fire Fighters Charity.
Control Room Crew Manager Sarah Goodall, from the organising committee, said: “We are really looking forward to this year’s event and hopefully the weather will hold out for us.
“The Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza has always been very successful and a great opportunities for families to come and enjoy the bonfire fun in a very controlled and safe environment.
“Fingers crossed for another great event.”
Chief Fire Officer John Roberts added: “The committee always goes all out to make this event one of the highlights of our calendar and no doubt this year will be the same. I must thank everyone who has worked so tirelessly to put on this event for the community.
“The Fire Fighters Charity is an incredibly worthy charity which offers support to injured firefighters and their families, so the proceeds of this event go to a very deserving cause which is close to our hearts.
“Please come along and enjoy the fun!”
