Leeds personnel strive for excellence in firefighting, extrication and specialist water rescue skills. Staff engage in community activity and attend neighbourhood forums, anti-crime partnership meetings and local projects. The partnerships developed assist by identifying people at risk and providing referrals and assistance to vulnerable members of society within the area.

The River Aire runs through Leeds city centre and crews attend a number of water rescue incidents. They are actively engaging with the public and partner agencies to promote water safety.

The Leeds District management team also work out of Leeds fire station, developing new operational training objectives and effective prevention strategies, delivering the district action plan and in turn supporting the WYFRS action plan.
