Moortown Fire Station

Moortown Fire Station, built in 1956, is situated at the Harrogate Road end of Stonegate Road. It houses one operational wholetime fire appliance. The station is staffed by a station commander and 24 operational firefighters who provide 24 hour cover, 365 days a year.

The station area covers a widely diverse population stretching from the Chapeltown area up to the Harewood region in the north of the station boundary. The station borders with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Moortown personnel are committed to improving the service delivered to the local community and the people of West Yorkshire. Personnel continue to carry out Safe and Well home visits to vulnerable members of the community, providing education and interventions with the aim to reduce fire risk and make West Yorkshire safer.
