Fire crew responded to a fire involving a ruptured external gas main causing a build-up of gas in the basements of neighbouring properties. A total of 7 properties were evacuated displacing 20 residents for a period of time. Northern Gas attended to isolate the leak before crews were able to extinguish the fire and ventilate properties allowing residents to return to their homes.  An appliance from Castleford station attended.
