Firefighters attended a house fire in Holme House Road, Todmorden, after an emergency call was received at 23.51 hrs on Monday 19th August.
Crews from Todmorden, Mytholmroyd, Burnley and Illingworth stations attended the property.
A female occupier, aged in her 60’s, was sadly found to have passed away inside.
A Fire Investigation Officer attended the scene and a full report will be issued to the Coroner in due course.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Dave Walton said “Firefighters attended the scene but sadly the female occupier had already passed away inside the property.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to her loved ones at this difficult time.
“We will be providing a full report to the Coroner which will examine the circumstances that led to the fire.”
