Bradford Fire Station is situated on Leeds Road and was opened by Mr Gerry Sutcliffe MP on 8th June 2007, replacing the fire station on Nelson Street, Bradford city centre.

Serving the wards of City, Bowling and Bakerend, Bradford moor, Eccleshill, Little Horton, Maningham, Pudsey and Tong, the stations aim is to provide the best service to our local areas. By working with community groups, educating local schools and visiting households to provide our safe and well checks, the station strives to deliver a more detailed service to meet the needs of our community. The station personnel work closely with key partner agencies to highlight and tackle any areas or issues of importance within our local communities. The operational crews and support staff at Bradford station provide fire safety information at many local events.

The station has a Combined Aerial Rescue Pump (CARP), one fire appliance, a resilience appliance and a resilience aerial ladder platform (ALP). Personnel at the station are made up of a Station Commander (also responsible for Shipley fire station), station clerk and 44 firefighters who provide emergency cover throughout the year 24 hours a day. The operational crews train continuously against the risk of Bradford and surrounding areas, having an in-depth knowledge of local risks. The crews visit local households and businesses daily to ensure residents and owners are given fire safety and prevention advice.

The station is also home to the districts Fire prevention team who work throughout Bradford and surrounding areas to tackle high risk issues, provide safe and well checks and work with businesses providing support and guidance on fire safety matters.

Bradford’s district operational team is also based on the station, made up of the District Operational Commander, assistant District Commander, support staff and district clerk. The team works alongside the operational crews and fire prevention teams within the Bradford district to provide a well-trained and professional service, in prevention and responding to the needs of the districts wards. Ensuring Bradford and surrounding areas are kept safe and well.
