Shipley fire station, situated on Valley Road was built in 2017 and comprises of offices, training and community facilities and an appliance bay that houses one water ladder fire appliance. The station is wholetime (24/7) and the team is made up of a Station Commander (who also manages Bradford fire station), 24 firefighters and a station clerk who provides administrative support.
The station area covers the southern part of Bradford and is made up of mainly residential housing with a mix of commercial throughout.
In addition to acting as a fire station there are facilities to accommodate community and partnership groups providing a room with multimedia equipment for all training and meeting needs.
The Station Commander and station personnel are committed to working alongside community and partner agencies to identify the most vulnerable within society and provide assistance to improve the wellbeing and safety of those within West Yorkshire, whilst providing a round the clock operational response to any emergency incident.
The positioning of the new Shipley fire station is a result of reassessing and identifying risk within the Bradford South area with the aim to provide a more resilient and effective service for now and the foreseeable future.
