Todmorden Fire Station, built in 1969, is positioned in the heart of the South Pennines moorland area. It borders with both Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and is situated in the centre of the community of Todmorden. The population is 16,023 and the area incorporates 6,859 dwellings. The team is made up of a station commander (who also manages Mytholmroyd and Rastrick) and 14 firefighters dedicated to serving their community by reducing the risk and responding to the people of Todmorden. Personnel are specialists in wildfire firefighting and train regularly with their colleagues from across the county border.
