    The Category Management Contract Officer will join at an exciting time as the organisation has invested in their procurement operation to drive commercial change and drive VFM initiatives across the whole spend portfolio. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring procurement professional who works in an existing procurement team and wants to take the next step in their career.

    The post holder will be involved in major capex investment projects and the portfolio of procurement projects includes minor works in refurbishments, trades and labour, professional services and other Facilities Management requirements and will have the ability to develop and design the strategy with the Property Services stakeholder group, driving and delivering their key objectives.

    Primarily based at Fire Service Headquarters, the location is perfect for commuters and ideally located for residents of Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Wakefield and Huddersfield. Flexible working arrangements are in place and will be agreed with the successful candidate. This role will focus on managing the procurement process for a variety of services within the Property Services portfolio including professional services for Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, Architects, M&E Maintenance contractors, Facilities Management services and capital projects.

    Key Responsibilities in this role will include:

    > Engaging with stakeholders to scope requirements;

    > Select compliant routes to market and contract modules to use such as JCT, NEC;

    > Lead the procurement process - SQ, RFQ, ITT, Tender evaluation, contract award etc.;

    > Work with the Procurement Manager to deliver compliant, commercial contracts that deliver VFM and savings.

    Key skills and experience in this role will include:

    > Professional qualification MCIPS (or currently working towards);

    > Experience of Facilities Management and Property Services procurement processes.

    Are you a great administrator with a keen eye for detail? We need you to provide administrative support for the Information Governance team and the wider Corporate Services functions.

    You will provide admin support, coordinate Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection (DP) requests ensuring they meet legislative deadlines and provide advice and guidance on FOI and DP matters. 

    You will create databases, provide support for meetings and assist in the design, creation and maintenance of corporate document management systems and ensure information is published on our website accurately.  You will deal with confidential information and assist in the preparation of Subject Access Requests.

    You will have experience of MS products i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook along with experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential information and have good organisational skills.

  • Position: Firefighter Control - Fixed Term Contract (2 years)

    Description:

    Applications are being invited from individuals who wish to be considered for Control Operator at West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.

    The post holder will deal with emergency calls from the public and mobilise appliances, officers and equipment via a centralised computer based system. The principal duties of the post include the receipt and recording of emergency calls, monitoring and maintaining availability of fire appliances, incident support and carrying out administrative duties as required. Comprehensive in-house training will be provided.

    Applicants must be experienced at working within a dynamic, high pressure environment with strict time constraints.

    It is essential that applicants have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, can maintain a confident and resilient attitude in highly challenging situations and are prepared to work shifts including night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

    The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with people in stressful situations and be confident and effective telephone communicators. Applicants must possess a GCSE ‘C’ English (or equivalent level 2 literacy qualification) or have obtained a NVQ Level 3 Emergency Fire Services Control Operations qualification. An aptitude and motivation to undertake intensive training and the ability to quickly comprehend and apply instructions is essential.

    The full-time duty system will require you to work 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts followed by 4 days off which average 42 hours per week.

    This 8-day system requires weekend and public holiday working on a regular basis, in addition you may also be required to work any other duty systems in Control. Please refer to the terms and conditions posted with the vacancy for further details.

    This vacancy is for 2 x fixed-term appointments for approx. 2 years. The appointments are subject to aptitude tests, interview and medical assessments.
