  • Position: ICT Support Analyst (Internal only)

    Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

    Description:

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the country’s leading fire and rescue Services; to become part of a family where everyone plays their part in making West Yorkshire Safer.

    You will work as part of the service desk team to ensure that ICT service delivery meets our agreed KPIs, dealing with all customer queries in line with our Customer charter, standards and procedures.

    You will undertake routine maintenance work of Authority ICT systems including operating systems, applications, hardware / software installations, server side facilities, SharePoint and internet / email filtering systems.

    You should have demonstrable experience of working within a technical service desk team and be educated to NVQ level 3 in a computer related subject or have equivalent experience / training.

    You will be required to work 37 hours flexibly as part of the team to cover Monday to Friday 7.30am to 8pm and be part of a standby rota for weekend working to cover Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 4.30pm. This will attract a 2.5% salary enhancement and time in lieu or payment for standby hours worked.

  • Position: Firefighter - Cleckheaton Fire Station/Technical Rescue and USAR Technician (internal only)

    Applications are invited from competent Wholetime Firefighters to become a Technical Rescue and Urban Search and Rescue Technician in conjunction with the recognised Firefighters role. The role will work on the Day Crewing Specialist Duty System.

    Description:

    Individuals applying must:

    • Be a competent Wholetime Firefighter
    • Have a band ‘A’ or ‘B’ in their current PDR
    • Have no current disciplinary awards
    • Be available to attend Strategic Training Facility at FSHQ (BD11 2LS) within a 45 minute turn out timeframe to enable to fulfil the on call element of the duty system.
    • Have a full driving licence

  • Position: Instructor Training Centre

    Vacancy – Training Centre Instructors - Closing Date Midnight 15th September 2019

    Description:

    Applications are being sought from Wholetime Firefighters and Crew Managers to work in Trauma, BA, Trainee and Technical Rescue Training departments.

    Training Centre Instructors receive a 4% Training Centre Instructor Additional Responsibility Allowance and a 4% Training Centre Instructor Duty System Allowance (Grey book flexi system, which may include weekends and evenings, predominately working at FSHQ but may include other appropriate locations as required). 

    Successful FF applicants will not be required to enter the FF to CM promotion process unless they wish to do so and will be paid at CM rate of pay.

    As part of your qualification you may have to attend residential courses out of county.

    Eligibility

    Members of staff applying must:

    • be a Wholetime substantive and competent Firefighter or Crew Manager
    • have a band ‘A’ or ‘B’ in their current PDR
    • have no current disciplinary awards
    • have a full driving licence
