UPDATE 10:35

We received a call at 00:22 last night regarding a chemical spillage on Whitehall Road in Leeds. Crews attended from Leeds, Hunslet, Moortown, Killingbeck, Morley, Bradford, Cleckheaton, Dewsbury, and Mirfield. An aerial ladder platform was utilised, and the Welfare Unit from Skelmanthorpe, as well as the Command Unit Runners from Castleford and Featherstone, were also in attendance.

The last crew left the site this morning at 8:22.

Description:

We received a call at 00.23 to reports of a fire at a waste management company.

We initially sent ten crews, however this was quickly scaled back to five.

All residents in the local area are being asked to keep doors and windows shut due to smoke and other possible toxicity in the air.

UPDATE: 07:00 all our crews have now left the scene. Residents are advised to continue to keep doors and windows shut while the smoke cloud clears.
