Ten crews have been in attendance at a fire at the old Durker Roods Hotel on Bishops Way in Meltham.

Crews were called at 16.14 to reports of a fire, and found the first floor of the building approximately 50% involved in fire.

Firefighters have used large jets and breathing apparatus to tackle the flames.

There are no reports of any casualties.

PLEASE NOTE: As of 19.30 this incident is being scaled back, but crews and other emergency services remain at the scene. We are working with our partners to reduce the disruption on the surrounding roads. If possible please avoid the area.

22:04 - The fire is out and crews remain at scene damping down and cutting away. Crews will remain on scene overnight.

06:20 11/09/24 - Crews remain at scene checking for hotspots. Incident is due to be reviewed in full daylight.
