Crews remained on site this morning damping down & the incident is now closed.

Thank you to residents for their patience & partners for their support while we tackle this incident.

 
UPDATE | 7:30

Damping down is ongoing at the incident on Savile Rd, Castleford

The incident has been scaled back. 5 fire engines & 1 aerial appliance remain on scene reducing to 3 fire engines at 8am.

2 large jets, hose reel and breathing apparatus sets are also in use.

Please keep doors/windows closed.

Description:

UPDATE AT 03:50 - Advice has been issued from the fire ground to all local residents and businesses to keep all doors and windows closed whilst the Fire Service continue to deal with the incident.

 

Building fire single storey 30m x 15m bathroom showroom involved. 100% involved in fire. 4 large jets, 4 hose reel jets, aerial appliance and 2 breathing apparatus sets used to extinguish the fire.  Incident still ongoing.
