Building fire - Siddal, Halifax
This incident was closed overnight at 01.30. Crews used large jets, ground monitors and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
Our thanks to all members of the public who respected the cordon and followed our safety advice to keep doors and windows shut.
A special mention to our brilliant control room staff who received 80 calls in five minutes when this incident became visible.
We currently have 11 crews from across West Yorkshire at the scene of a building fire at Cinderhill Works in the Siddal area of Halifax.
This is believed to be a derelict building, 20x30m, 50% involved in flames.
Crews are using large jets including an aerial appliance to tackle the fire.
Please avoid the area, and all residents in the HX3 area and beyond keep doors and windows shut - there is a large smoke plume.
