Description:

We were called at 11.02 to reports of a chemical incident on Quarry Court in Halifax.

This involves some chemicals which have mixed and produced a gas cloud.

As a precaution we are asking the public within 100 metres of the area to stay indoors with the doors and windows shut.

All local businesses in the area should also shut doors and windows.

We currently have a crew from Illingworth and our DIM Unit at the scene.

UPDATE 1430 - One crew and one DIM Unit remain at the scene alongside our blue light partners and Environment Agency colleagues. Please continue to follow the safety information.

UPDATE 1530 - The chemical has stopped reacting and we have handed the scene back to the responsible persons. People are free to leave their properties. We'd like to thank everyone for their cooperation while this incident was resolved.
