Crews remain in attendance at Castle Hill, Huddersfield, with six fire engines still on scene.
 

Road closures are in place - please avoid the area and allow our crews to work safely.

Update: 09:30am - 04/07/2025

We can confirm that crews remain in attendance at Castle Hill, Huddersfield. Six pumps are still on scene, and crews are currently undertaking water relay operations - laying hose to draw water from further afield to support firefighting efforts.

We currently have 6 crews plus supporting units at Castle Hill in Huddersfield tackling a grass fire.

We were called at 17:03 today and have firefighters working with argo cats, hose reels, fogging units and large jets to bring the blaze under control.

There are no reports of any injuries.

We will be working at the scene throughout the night and are asking all members of the public to avoid the area for recreational use until at least 10:00 tomorrow morning (04/07/25).
