West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the Emergency Services Day event as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend celebrations held at Halifax Piece Hall.

Colleagues from North Yorkshire FRS also joined in with their water safety demonstration kit which was a hit with both children and adults.

Firefighters from Rastrick, Halifax and Todmorden showcased fire engines, water rescue guidance, and our wildfire vehicles, while Calderdale Fire Prevention team were on hand to share fire safety advice.

Laura Boocock, Calderdale District Commander said “I’m thrilled that our crews could be part of this fantastic event at the Piece Hall as part of the Jubilee celebrations. We had a fantastic time and saw thousands of people throughout the day.

“The chance to do this alongside our fellow blue light services was a real bonus – we work with them on a regular basis day-to-day so it was great to celebrate with them too. The Piece Hall is a fantastic venue and we are already planning next year’s event! Thank you to the crews and volunteers involved throughout the day."
