Fire crews from across the region are in attendance at a derelict building fire on Riverside Estate, Shipley. 

10 appliances are in attendance with specialist support units including aerial appliance.

Residents local to the area are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke from the fire.  

Please avoid the area where possible so emergency services can deal with the incident.

Derelict Building Fire - Make Pumps 4 & Aerial 1

Derelict school, 30% involved in fire, building size 50m x 30m. 

6 breathing apparatus, 3 hose reel jets and 1 large jet were used. 

Fire engines from Moortown, Cookridge & Leeds attended. Aerial and aerial support attended from Bradford and Stanningley. 

Farm building involved, roof void well alight. 6 hose reels used and 2 breathing apparatus used

***Unoccupied care home involved in fire, 5 fire engines and support crews currently in attendance and dealing.  Local residents advised to keep doors and windows closed due to low lying smoke in the area***

 

UPDATE 08:00 21/04 - There is no longer a requirement to keep doors and windows closed as a result of this incident.

Report of building fire, on arrival this was made pumps 5 and aerials 1, then pumps 8 aerials 2, with persons reported trapped.

This is a three storey building with ground floor restaurant and two floors residential, fire from roof.  One large jet, two aerials, 2 hose reels and 8 breathing apparatus used.

Fire crews attended a fire at a terraced domestic property, the fire was located on the 3rd floor attic. 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and 1 positive pressure ventilation fan was used. 1 male casualty suffered from smoke inhalation.
