Incident Update | 12:55 pm

Crews are now damping down.

  •  3 Pumps and 2 Ariel's and in attendance.
Incident Update | 08.20 am

6 relief crews now at the scene plus 1 aerial ladder - Locals asked to avoid area - All persons accounted for Crews remain tackling the fire.

Incident Update | 06:22am 
  • 2 Ariel appliances and 9 Pumps in use. 
  • Buildings to either side of the incident have been saved.
  • 12 persons have been evacuated due heavy smoke. 

There is heavy smoke in the surrounding area. Please avoid the area, and keep windows/doors closed.

We will continue attendance to the incident throughout the day.

Gas and Electric support requested. 

Large jets and Ariel in use.

Town Hall building is now open to members of the public affected by the incident. 

4 Properties to either side of the incident now involved.

Properties in the area have now been evacuated, and Welfare units set up.

Restaurants and offices above now involved.

Support now provided from Greater Manchester and Lancashire Fire Service. 

Please keep windows and doors shut and avoid the area surrounding the incident.

Building fire reported - Crews currently in attendance - on arrival crews make pumps 10.
