Firefighters have been hailed as “heroes” after saving a new-born puppy from a house fire in Halifax.

Horse with two of its legs stuck in a ditch unable to stand up.

Fire crews with the assistance of a local vet, rescued the horse from the ditch and reunited it with its owner.

Two vehicle Road Traffic Collision, 1 person self-released and 1 person trapped in vehicle, rescued by fire service and left in care of paramedics.

Fire in a kitchen of a two storey detached property.  2 hose reels and 4 breathing apparatus used to extinguish the fire and positive pressure ventilation fan used to clear smoke.  Ambulance service were requested for one female casualty aged approximately 30 years suffering smoke inhalation.

** Update 05:15 07/12** The incident has now been reduced to 2 appliances. These are in attendance from Cookridge and Dewsbury

 

Call received from ARC to fire alarm sounding, on arrival Hunslet made pumps 3. Fire was located in plant room and incident made pumps 5 and 1 aerial. Incident was then made up to pumps 8.

Building fire, 3 hose reels, 4 breathing apparatus, positive pressure ventilation and aerial in use.

1 adult pedestrian trapped under car, extrication carried out by fire service personnel and transported to hospital by ambulance.

Appliances from Ossett and Normanton attended.

Flat fire on third floor, 6 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel used.

Appliances from Wakefield, Ossett, Normanton, Dewsbury and aerial from Leeds attended along with a fire investigation officer.

It was one of the most daring missions of World War II – and from today a West Yorkshire firefighter will be joining in a tribute to a group of brave marines, nicknamed the Cockleshell Heroes.

Call to a flat fire on the third floor of a three storey property. Crews made incident persons reported on arrival, and also requested the attendance of an aerial appliance. The flat was 100% involved, building measured 10m x 10m. Four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and positive pressure ventilation used.
