A dog owner, who plunged thirty foot into the River Wharfe while searching for her pet, has been saved by fire and rescue crews.

Request from Ambulance to assist moving a male casualty with fractured femur after falling off a ladder and then down internal stairs.  An aerial appliance was requested to attend and after further assessment Technical Rescue Unit was also mobilised.  Casualty was rescued using the aerial appliance.  Ambulance HART team were also in attendance.

2 cars involved with 1 male trapped, extrication carried out by fire service personnel and transported to hospital via ambulance. 3 further casualties were already out of the vehicles on arrival.

Appliances from Skelmanthorpe, Huddersfield x 2, TRU and support from Cleckheaton attended.

A fire officer has said he was “honoured” to take part in the State Funeral after being one of just sixteen firefighters nationally chosen to do so.

Six fire appliances are in attendance at a commercial building fire in Shafton Lane, Holbeck, Leeds.   

Building 10m x 30m, 70% involved in fire.  Crews are using two breathing apparatus, one large jet and one hose reel to tackle the fire.

Residents nearby are advised to keep doors and windows closed due to large amount of smoke in the area.

Call received from an adult female who had fallen down a cliff edge into the River Wharfe

The caller stated she had a broken arm and was unable to get out of the water.  Fire control operator remained on the line reassuring the caller until fire crews arrived the incident.

Road traffic collision, 2 vehicles involved.

Five casualties, 4 in one car and 1 in the other vehicle plus 3 self-extricated.  Air ambulance attended.

All casualties extricated by the fire service and left in the care of ambulance.

Fire crews are currently dealing with a fire inside a flat in a 17-storey building in Wellington Street, Leeds.

Six pumps are in attendance along with two aerial platforms at West Point flats.

There are no reports of persons involved and residents in other flats are being advised to stay put as the fire is brought under control.

Building fire, 6 fire engines in attendance, fire spread from rubbish outside the building to the roof void, 4 hose reels, 8 breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation fans where used to extinguish the fire.

Fire engines that attended where from Leeds, Hunslet, Killingbeck and Moortown

 

Incident now reduced to 1 fire engine at 06:10
