Featherstone Fire Station has gained a new on-call fire fighter all the way from Australia following the latest pass out ceremony at West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s HQ.

2 cars involved with 1 person trapped. Extrication carried out by fire service personnel and transferred to hospital by ambulance.

Bungalow on fire approximately 15m by 20m. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus sets, 2 hose reels, 1 aerial appliance and ventilation fans to help extinguish the fire.

Make pumps 4 and aerials 1 - Fire in single storey building, 20 metres x 10 metres, 10 per cent involved in fire, crews used 1 hose reel, 2 breathing apparatus, 1 aerial appliance and a high powered fan to clear smoke from the building.

Reports of a Road Traffic Collision involving 2 cars with 2 persons trapped. On arrival it was found that the 2 persons involved were trapped in the same vehicle, both were released by fire service personnel and then transported to hospital by ambulance.

Caravan fire on driveway, smoke spread to 2 houses.  1 hose reel, 2 breathing apparatus and high powered fan used to extinguish the fire and clear the smoke.  1 casualty suffered from the effects of smoke, and was given oxygen therapy by fire crews on scene. The British Red Cross Fire Emergency Support Service attended to offer their assistance to the residents affected.
