Ilkley’s longest-serving firefighter, Watch Commander Alex Watson, is preparing to take a well-deserved retirement.

Multiple calls received to 3 cars & 3 shipping containers on fire.

4 Breathing apparatus 2 hose reel jets and a ground monitor used to tackle the fire.

Crews from Halifax, Illingworth, Odsal, cleckheaton, Huddersfield and Fairweather green attended the scene.

1 car involved with 1 male trapped, extrication carried out by fire service personnel and casualty left in hands of paramedics.

Road traffic collision involving 1 car that ended up on its roof. 1 female was trapped in the vehicle and was released by fire service personnel. Casualty then handed over into care of ambulance crews.

Fire in the open involving a gas bottle, fire was out on arrival of fire service, 1 male casualty received burns to face and hands and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Road traffic collision involving 2 cars, on arrival 1 female was trapped and crews made this a make pumps 3 incident. Casualty was suffering from suspected neck and spinal injuries and was released from vehicle and handed over into care of paramedics before being transported to hospital.

Fire in kitchen of flat on 5th floor of a High Rise Block. This was a small fire and was out on arrival of fire service. 1 male casualty suffered smoke inhalation ans was given oxygen therapy by fire crews. Casualty was then handed over into care of ambulance crews. Smoke detection was fitted and did actuate.
