We are in attendance at an #incident at Aircraft Ground Incident at Leeds Bradford Airport, in conjunction with other emergency services.

At this time, there are no reported injuries or fires.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) is celebrating the hard work of those who answer when you call for help – as part of International Control Room Week.

Reports received of 1 female in the canal on Armouries Drive in Leeds. Full water rescue attendance sent and on arrival crews confirmed one female had been rescued from the water by a member of the public prior to the arrival of the fire service using the throwline adjacent to the canal. Casualty administered first aid by the fire service before being placed in the care of ambulance crews.

Reports received of a property fire on Westfield Road with further caller stating persons reported inside. On arrival incident was no persons involved and fire was extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus sets,1 hose reel and ventilation carried out.

Reports received of a derelict building on fire. On arrival crews made pumps 5 confirming this was a 50m x 30m derelict building involved. Fire was confirmed as being on the third floor, 10% involved.  2 hose reels, 1 jet and 6 breathing apparatus sets were used by crews to extinguish the fire.

Crews from Killingbeck and Garforth were mobilised to a domestic property fire on Parlington Lane, Leeds. Further calls advised there may be persons involved and so incident was changed to Domestic Persons. Crews were advised; Police and Ambulance were requested due to the incident type. 6 breathing apparatus and 3 hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire in the property which was 100% involved. It was later confirmed that all persons were accounted for and Ambulance crews were stood down.

Crews were called at 21.05 to reports of a four storey derelict mill on fire, 100% involved in flames. The building measures approximately 66x48m.

Eight fire engines plus an aerial ladder are at the scene.

Firefighters (including support crews) from Huddersfield, Rastrick, Bradford (aerial ladder), Cleckheaton, Meltham, Slaithwaite, Skelmanthorpe, Shipley, Pontefract, Killingbeck, Halifax and Holmfirth are in attendance.

UPDATE: 03.56 - The fire has been extinguished and all crews have left the scene.

Derelict building fire- eight crews and two aerial ladders currently in attendance. The fire is approximately 50 metres x 100 metres and the building is 100% involved. One large jet and two hose reels are also in use. Local residents advised to keep windows and doors shut due to a large plume of smoke.

 

UPDATE: 07:00am

This incident is reducing down to three crews at the scene, who will remain for much of the morning.

Building fire, make pumps 8 and 1 Aerial appliance, this is a 3 storey building measuring approx., 125m by 25m, 25% involved in fire affecting 3 of the floors.

3 sectors are in use and crews using are using 1 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel and 2 large jets to extinguish the fire.
