We are in attendance at an incident in North Street, Keighley where a fire has spread from a takeaway to flats above. We were called at 9.20am this morning to the fire and we currently have crews from Keighley, Bingley, Shipley, Stanningley, Morley, Fairweather Green, Illingworth, Bradford, Odsal, Ilkley, Rothwell, Killingbeck, Cleckheaton, Cookridge, Rawdon, and Todmorden in attendance. A crew from across the border in Skipton has also joined us and we have aerial support from Leeds and Huddersfield.
Fire crews from across the region are in attendance at a derelict building fire on Riverside Estate, Shipley.
10 appliances are in attendance with specialist support units including aerial appliance.
Residents local to the area are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke from the fire.
Please avoid the area where possible so emergency services can deal with the incident.
Derelict building fire, 3 storeys, 60% involved in fire. Crews currently using 8 Firefighting appliances, 2 Aerial ladder platforms, 3 large jets and 2 hose reels to extinguish the fire.
Appliances from across the brigade are in attendance along with specialist resources and officers.
Make pumps 5 building fire, multi occupancy commercial units involved, 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels, 2 large jets & Aerial ladder platform in use. Incident has been sectorised. 70m x 40m with exposure risk to 1 side.
Appliances from Otley, Rawdon, Cookridge, Leeds and Shipley are in attendance with supporting resources and specialist officers.
Firefighters responded to a house fire involving an electrical consumer unit in a garage on the ground floor below a domestic property. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reels to extinguish the fire, 2 positive pressure ventilation fans were used for smoke clearance.
Fire crews responded to the report of a fire in a kitchen and persons involved. Upon arrival crews confirmed all persons were out of the property prior to their arrival. 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel and 1 jet used to extinguish fire and positive pressure ventilation used for smoke clearance. Ambulance were requested for one female casualty suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Killingbeck and Leeds are currently at a house fire at Beech Walk, Gipton in Leeds, where a semi-detached property is on fire. We rescued a person from the house and handed them over to the care of ambulance staff on site. We received the call at 1pm to attend and firefighters are using breathing apparatus and hose reels to extinguish the flames. It is too early to speculate on the cause."
