West Yorkshire emergency services joined forces

Reports of smoke coming from windows of top floor of 3 storey building.  On arrival, crews made pumps 10, persons reported. This is a timber framed building in an eco development, the fire is on the second floor. 4 breathing apparatus, 3 hose reel jets and 2 large jets in use. There proved to be no persons involved.

Fire Service Control received a call advising that a kitchen was on fire in a high-rise premise. Appliances from Halifax, Illingworth, Rastrick, Odsal and Huddersfield's aerial were mobilised to the incident. On arrival the crews dealt with a kitchen fire using 2 breathing apparatus and a large jet. Positive pressure ventilation was used to clear smoke from the flat. Heat detector alarm was sounding but working smoke alarms were not sounding due to the kitchen door being closed.

Crews attended a flat fire within a high-rise premise following a call to smoke coming out of the window and reports of a person within the property unable to leave. Crews from Killingbeck, Leeds and an aerial appliance from Bradford were mobilised to the incident and upon arrival it was noted that there were several items on fire. An elderly male casualty who was conscious and breathing was rescued by fire crews from the property. Crews used 1 hose reel and 2 breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

Crews called out to a kitchen fire of a domestic property. 100 per cent of kitchen involved in fire. Gas board were requested due to a ruptured gas main inside the property. Kitchen measured 5m x 10m and crews used 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reels to extinguish fire. Together Housing were requested to attend by crews for securing property and making electrics safe as well as providing temporary accomodation for the resident due to the extent of damage caused by the smoke and fire.

Small stables approx 5m x 15m were 100% involved in fire. No animals were involved. On arrival, the crew requested 2 further fire engines to assist. Crews used 2 large Jets and 1 Hosereel to extinguish the fire.
