Day of family fun to showcase blue light services

10 fire appliances are currently in attendance at a high-rise building fire in Bradford.

Calls received to reports of a building on fire, Greenwood Wood, Ilkley Road, Addingham.  On arrival crews confirmed this was a building approximately 40m x 20m 100% involved in fire.  Incident was increased to make pumps 6 restricted.  2 large jets and 2 hose reels used to extinguish fire.

Crews from Silsden, Keighley, 2 Skipton (North Yorkshire), Otley and Rawdon attended.

Crews responded to a fire in a bedroom in an end terraced two storey property.  2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel were used to extinguish the fire. Hard wired smoke detectors were fitted and actuated.

Derelict 3 storey building, 50% involved. 3 large jets used.

Appliances from Bradford, Shipley, Cleckheaton, Fairweather Green, Stanningley, Bingley, Dewsbury, Cookridge, Illingworth, Leeds aerial and support from Dewsbury, command unit and support from Pontefract, CU assistants from Normanton, hose layer and support from Mirfield, Welfare from Ilkley. 

Officers also attended in various roles.

Crews responded to a road traffic collision involving two cars with the report of one person trapped.  One male casualty was trapped inside one of the  cars which was on its side, and was extricated by fire crews using specialist cutting equipment and handed over into the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service before being transported to hospital by ambulance.

Crews are currently dealing with a deep seated fire in woodland ground, measuring approximately 100m x 40m.  The fire has been treated as a wildfire incident, 1 hose reel, 1 main jet, water backpacks, fogging unit and wildfire beaters have been in use.  Mutual assistance has been requested from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service together with the Park Rangers and Forestry Commission  who have both provided the use of water bowsers to help with water supplies in the area.

House fire persons reported - 1 female rescued from 1st floor bedroom window by fire crews using a ladder.  4 breathing apparatus 2 hose reels and positive pressure ventilation fan used.  Fire survival guidance given by fire control to the caller until the firefighters rescued her to safety

Crews responded to a rubbish fire that had spread to the outside of an unoccupied semi-detached property affecting the external gas and electric meters.  2 hose reels and 2 breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire.  Northern Powergrid and Northern Gas were requested to attend.
