House fire with upstairs bedroom involved. Fire crews used one hose reel and 4 breathing apparatus to extinguish fire. All occupants out of house on arrival of fire service. One occupant suffered from smoke inhalation and was treated by the ambulance service.

On a crisp September morning, the drill yard at West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) Halifax Fire Station, came alive with the sound of 20 new and determined voices.

20:00 update - 1 appliance still in attendance with Fire Investigation officers 

Domestic property fire in terraced house - Potential for fire spread to a further 5 properties.

5 Hose reels and 4 breathing apparatus in use.

8 to 9 properties have been evacuated. Local residents advised to keep windows and doors closed and stay away from the area if possible.

A five-week-old kitten had a purrfect escape after becoming trapped in the engine of a car in Bradford.

Update 1: 

On Wednesday 25th September, we were called at 20:42 to a report of a derelict building fire on Theaker Lane, Armley, Leeds, LS12 3NU.

Crews and fire appliances from across West Yorkshire in attendance: Make pump x10.

West Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service in attendance.

Update 2: 22:32

We are now scaling back our resources. Make pump (fire appliance) x6 in attendance - x2 Leeds, x2 Hunslet, x1 Stanningley, x1 Cookridge.

Reports of a barn on fire at a farm location. On arrival crews made pumps 8 and requested the assistance of the Hose Laying Unit as access to water proved to be an issue.  This was a large barn 100% involved in fire, size approx 70m x 40m.  The barn contained a tractor and some cylinders. Crews used 2 hose reels. West Yorkshire crews were assisted by North Yorkshire Fire crews.

One male patient complaining of chest pains whilst operating a crane at a height of approx. 38m.   The casualty was rescued from the crane using an Aerial Ladder Platform from Wakefield and assisted by Technical Rescue crews and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

On Saturday 14th September, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) held its prestigious Long Service Awards at the iconic Piece Hall in Halifax.

Large amount of household waste within a building measuring 60m x 20m.  1 ground monitor, 2 hose reels and 1 large jet in use.  Crews will be in attendance throughout the night damping down.
