Crews were called to a fire in a house in Methley.

Whilst 3 fire engines were on route, Fire Control sent a 4th appliance to assist due to the information from callers.

On arrival, the incident commander requested an aerial appliance also to assist.

Crews used 3 hosereel jets, 2 large jets and 4 fire fighters in breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.

Two fire engines were mobilised to the report of a derelict building on fire.  On arrival two further fire engines were requested to assist with the fire on the ground and first floors of a 3 storey building measuring approximately 40m x 25m.  A total of 3 hose reels and 6 breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire, and positive pressure ventilation fans used to clear the smoke.  

 

Bathroom fire in ground floor flat within a 2 storey building measuring approximately 15m x 5m.  Firefighters used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel to extinguish the fire, and positive pressure ventilation fan used to clear the smoke.

 

Fire engines from Ossett, Wakefield, and Dewsbury attended.

 

Report of person fallen between narrowboat and canal wall.

The casualty was rescued by fire crews using a sled to bring them to the banking, before being assessed by the paramedics in attendance.

Derelict building fire. Ground Floor and Roof involved in fire. 50 % of building involved. No Exposure risk. 2 Breathing apparatus, 2 Hose reel jets & 2 large jets used. 

Structural engineer requested to attend due to structural integrity of building compromised. 

Garage fire, attached to house, garage fully involved in fire, fire spread to roof and adjoining properties roof, which were fully involved in fire.  The incident was made up to 4 fire engines and 1 aerial appliance and support pump.  

6 breathing apparatus, 3 hose reels and positive pressure ventilation fan where used to extinguish the fire.

Specialist Fire Investigation officer in attendance and re-visiting the incident this morning to ascertain cause of fire.

On arrival crews found a building on fire that was 100% involved and they requested 1 additional fire engine and 1 aerial appliance.

Shortly into the incident, they requested 2 further fire engines with supporting appliances and officers for an incident of that size.

The building was approximately 20 metres x 60 metres and there was risk of direct fire spread to 1 side. 

Crews used a ground monitor, 1 large Jet, 2 hose reels and 2 breathing apparatus.

Crews attended overnight to damp down and the incident closed at 0840 28/06/24.

Fire Control received calls to smoke from a house in Siddal.

3 Fire engines attended. This was a bedroom fire, bedroom 100% involved.

4 Breathing Apparatus sets and 2 hosereels were used to deal with the fire.

Fire crews left the scene at 6.45am.

Road traffic collision involving one car on its roof.  One person was trapped in vehicle and was extricated by fire service personnel and left in the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
