House fire 90% of roof involved. Solar panels and lithium batteries were also involved. Fire engines from Odsal, Bradford and Stanningley attended and used 2 hose reels and 2 breathing apparatus.  An aerial appliance from Leeds was also used.

The Wakefield District Water Safety Group hosted the first Wakey Water Safety Weekend across the district.

3 domestic properties involved in fire. 2 of these properties were 100% involved in fire. Fire crews used 4 hose reels, 2 large jets, 4 breathing apparatus and 1 aerial appliance to extinguish fire. There were 7 casualties, all of which were out of the properties when fire crews arrived. Police and Ambulance also attended.

Large tyre fire in South Elmsall, 3 fire engines in attendance from both West and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue

At around 18:00 yesterday (18 July), we were called upon to assist West Yorkshire Police in response to antisocial activities in the Harehills area of Leeds.

Derelict church building involved approximately 20m x 50m. 1 floor, brick construction, no exposure risk, 40% of building involved in fire. 

Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 1 large jet and an aerial appliance to extinguish the fire.

Building containing Lithium Ion batteries 100% involved in the fire, building size is 30m x 30m, no exposure risks to surrounding property, 4 ground monitors used to extinguish the fire.

Local residents and anyone in the vicinity are advised to stay indoors with windows and doors shut and air conditioning switched off.

Call from Police to reports of a Chemical spillage of hydrochloric acid from a battery in the car park of a retail outlet.  The battery acid was diluted by crews after a cordon was placed around the spill following advice from specialist officers on scene. Specialist chemical monitoring equipment were also mobilised to scene.  Police and Ambulance also attended, with the clean up left in the hands of the police, the council and the responsible person for the battery.

Flat fire, chip pan involved.  Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel to extinguish the fire.  1 casualty at the property was given oxygen therapy by fire crews before being taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke.  Smoke detectors were fitted and working at the time of the incident.
