Numerous calls to the control room reporting field on fire in the New Crofton area of Wakefield. On arrival crews reported 100m x 100m field fire with standing corn involved, fire also affected hedges and allotments. Crews requested further assistance for another 6 pumps (fire engines) making the incident Make pumps 7 for personnel and water. Crews tackled the fire from multiple areas surrounding the field. They used 4 hose reels to extinguish the fire.
Crews mobilised to reports of a semi-detached house on fire. On arrival, crews requested support of an aerial appliance which was sent from Huddersfield, due to fire spreading from 1st floor to the roof. 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reels used. Ambulance requested for 1 male approx. 50-60years old suffering with smoke inhalation. Approximately 50% of 1st floor involved in fire. Red Cross fire support attended to support affected occupants.

Incident – Weeland Road, Knottingley (WF11)
We are currently responding to a large building fire on Weeland Road in Knottingley.
Twelve fire crews and our command unit are on scene. At this time, there are no reports of anyone involved or injured.
We kindly ask the public to avoid the area while emergency services manage the incident.

16:00 - We are currently responding to a wildfire covering approximately 100m on Marsden Moor, near Mount Road.
9 fire crews are on scene, supported by wildfire specialists, our drone team, and equipment including argocats and blowers to help bring the fire under control.
Please avoid the area if possible to allow emergency services to work safely and efficiently.

Firefighters from Featherstone, Castleford and Normanton responded to the report of smoke issuing from a two storey and basement mid terraced property.
Crews used 2 hose reels and 4 breathing apparatus, and a high-pressure fan was used to clear smoke. The smoke was caused by fumes from cooking material in the kitchen and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued 2 casualties from inside. Both casualties had smoke inhalation and were handed into the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service and transported to hospital.
