Fire crews have responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving 1 car and 1 heavy goods vehicle on Wakefield Road, Lepton. On arrival crews performed a rapid extrication of 1 adult female from the car who was then transported to hospital via air ambulance. 2 further casualties were left in care of the ambulance service and fire service made the scene safe.
Fire engines from Skelmanthorpe and Huddersfield attended. The technical rescue unit from Spen valley was also mobilised to assist but was returned prior to arrival as no longer needed at scene.
Two fire engines from Cookridge and Leeds Stations were mobilised to a road traffic collision involving one car. Due to the car reported to be on its roof our Technical Rescue Unit and Support Crew were also mobilised from Spen Valley Fire Station. A total of three casualties were found to be out of vehicle on arrival, and a further casualty was mechanically trapped and extricated by Firefighters on scene. All casualties were treated by Yorkshire Ambulance Service and transported to hospital.
Firefighters were mobilised to a kitchen fire in a flat on the 22nd floor of a highrise building. One breathing apparatus and one hose reel were used to extinguish the fire, and ventilation was carried to clear the smoke from the property.

Two fire engines from Killingbeck responded to derelict building fire and on arrival crews requested a further fire engine. The fire was confirmed to be on the first floor of a two-storey derelict building measuring approximately 25m x 10m. 4 Firefighters in breathing apparatus and 1 large jet were used to extinguish the fire.

Crews are dealing with a large fire in the BD5 area - they are requesting that people avoid the area if possible and those that live nearby to close all their windows and doors to stop smoke entering their property.
1 car into building. 1 person trapped in vehicle and 2 self released prior to arrival. Extrication carried out by fire service personnel and casualty transferred to hospital by ambulance.

We currently have four crews, plus partner agencies including Network Rail and West Yorkshire Police at the scene of a scrapyard fire on Station Yard in Dewsbury. Approximately 10 cars are on fire.
We are asking all local residents to keep doors and windows closed due to a large plume of smoke.
